Job Description

Responsibilities (Business Development):
• Achieve annual quotation, sales, revenue and other assigned targets.
• Prepare and maintain an annual business development plan.
• Meet with customers to present the capabilities of Clinical Supply Services.
• Negotiate quotations, CDAs and MSAs with customers.
• Close deals.
• Support Operations and Project Management with understanding of customer requirements to
determine feasibility of projects.
• Maintain a record of all business development activities and opportunities in CRM
(Voyager).
• Prepare adhoc reports for Manager.
• Develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers.
• Participate in tradeshows, exhibits and professional organizations.
• Maintain a proficient knowledge of service offerings, industry technology, trends, and customer and competitor capabilities.
• Manage budget and travel expenses in accordance with policies.
• Identify opportunities to “cross sell” acrossand forward leads to appropriate sales counterpart for follow-up.
• 100% compliant in all ComplianceWire assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

Responsibilities (Client Services):
• Drives the proposal process and liaises with project management, customers and management/key stakeholders on the generation of, and pricing for, Quotations/QARs.
• Facilitates communication between functional areas of the organization (i.e. Project Management, Operations, Quality, Finance, etc.) to ensure on-time delivery of quotations / proposals that are accurate and executable in terms of technical scope and meet costing / business margin targets.

• Works with all Operations functions to determine the most optimal and cost-effective manufacturing/packaging methods and to request pricing on any additional items to support quotation generation, as needed.
• Communicates directly with client contacts; leads and participates in client meetings to support the proposal / business development process.
• Works collaboratively and professionally in accordance with the global Client Services process and to support or lead Client Services objectives.
• Works with Business Development, Operations, and Finance to produce optimal value pricing solutions.
• Maintains pricing and client specific templates, as well as dedicated customer pricing, as appropriate.
• Assists in improving cost productivity between original quotation/proposal vs. actual, and in line with business objectives.
• Collaborates with all sites within the CSS business unit to maximize existing experience, knowledge, and resources.
• Supports other CSS sites with Quotations/QARs, as part of the global Client Services team resource.
• May lead, with guidance, complex quotations requiring discussions and input from multiple locations or business units and senior leadership, including Legal.
• May manage strategic clients.
• Participates in cross-functional initiatives to reduce cost and improve efficiency and service levels for both internal and external clients.
• May provide mentoring support to new team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

III. Position Requirements:
Education or Equivalent: (Minimum required to perform job)
• BS/BA in Business or Life Sciences preferred, but not required.

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
• 3 – 5 years of experience in contract pharmaceutical business with emphasis on clinical services.
• Prior sales/business development history with a successful track record.
• Must be capable of managing multiple tasks.
• Excellent Chinese and English language skills.
• Excellent skills in developing and articulating persuasive proposals.
• Proficient negotiation skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
