Job Description

Main responsibilities:
Support and advise business partners on commercial matters, such as negotiation, drafting, review and advice on various
commercial contracts with customers, suppliers and joint ventures arising from activities in or relating to the region
Support HR matters in the region (e.g. labor arbitration, labor disputes, outsourcing agreements) together with local HR
Manage litigation matters
Interpret, communicate, monitor and investigate compliance with applicable laws, LF Code of Business Ethics, other internal
and Legal Department policies
Conduct, manage, and coordinate compliance training in China and internal investigations into alleged wrongdoing
Build, maintain and manage strategic relationships with business partners
Identify and escalate issues and risks, current and potential, to the Legal Department and senior management
Help on special projects, research, reports,data and problem analysis as assigned
Undertake other tasks as may be requested by other members of the Legal Department
Working experience:
Minimum 8 years’ PQE with in-house experience and preferably law firm practice experience
Supply chain industry experience preferred, freight forwarding/shipping industry experience is a must
Strong work ethic, self-motivated and self-managed and works well as a team player within the Legal Department and with other stakeholders
Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills (in both Chinese and English languages); at ease in working in diverse environments, mature personality
Analytical, resourceful and adaptable to dynamic, fast-changing environment
Good working knowledge of a wide range of legal and compliance topics including general corporate and commercial law
issues, contract drafting, labor law issues, litigation/dispute resolution and risk management
Acts in a proactive, efficient and effective risk-based and benefit-driven way
Enthusiasm to work on a broad variety of legal matters and flexibility to support a dynamic business
A solutions-oriented, “hands-on” lawyer with a strong work ethic who thrives in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and take ownership of work, but seek guidance when needed
