Job Description

Role purpose

• Reporting directly to Commercial BP, to be the business partner role with China NZMP team to provide strategy leadership, drive key business projects, support the sustainable growth of China NZMP to deliver business objectives.

• Developing and providing insightful commercial analysis & KPI tracking that explains GC Ingredients performance and provide robust challenge to the BU’s leadership team around performance.

• Enhancing the business performance management processes & systems across Ingredients to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.

• Provide pricing insights on Fonterra Ingredients market position and competitiveness and support key business projects

• To build and maintain strong cross functional relationship with Sales, Business Development Marketing, Human Resources, and Supply Chain to identify opportunities and challenges, to promote effective and efficient operations.

Role accountabilities

Business Partnering and support

• Lead the development of robust and successful business proposals/plan and strategic partnerships. Provide commercial thinking and advices on investments and partnership opportunities through financial modelling, risk analysis, market condition assessment, and provide business with strategic and commercial recommendations.

• Translate strategy into operational goals and objectives, identify necessary resources (people & capital) on high priority opportunities, and ensure the achievement of superior execution of plans.

• Actively participate in special initiatives related to Business Planning or business partner and complete assigned tasks related to the initiatives.

• Commercial subject matter for GDT bidder applications, volume eligibility, monitoring & reporting of results.

• Support and conduct Reseller analysis and business reviews

• Assist the Commercial BP to prepare robust financial models to the new initiatives, as needed.

Monitoring, Controlling, and Accounting

• Lead Innovation project closed-won sign off and monthly performance cash tracking.

• Proactively monitor Opex tracking and coordinate accruals/corrections if any at month-end.

• Annual OPEX budget setting and quarterly forecast, LE

• Lead and facilitate the preparation of Regional Capex budget and projects.

Credit control

• Manage Credit Control and Working Capital, minimising tax exposure, borrowing costs and foreign exchange exposure and optimising the Company’s cash flow

• Working with Euler Insurer and relevant stakeholders for selling customers in the Receivable Management program (RMP)

Provide support to Commercial BP

• Work closely with Commercial BP to ensure the delivery of superior business performance.

• Work with Commercial BP to meet all Adhoc requests from VP NZMP, GC & Corporate central finance team


• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with Greater China central commercial team, NZMP China Sales teams and NZ Corporate team as needed.
