Key Responsibilities
- Confidently participate in or lead a diverse range of legal and compliance projects
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including non-disclosure, intercompany, distribution, supply, procurement and technology and licensing, across both contentious and non-contentious matters, and support in other areas such as corporate, employment, intellectual property and data privacy as appropriate
- Defend rights in contract settlements, negotiations and ADR
- Manage efficient use of outside counsel as required
- Design and deliver legal and compliance training to the business, or support with the local implementation of global initiatives
- Develop the legal department’s templates and guidance materials for the legal team and the business
- Horizon scanning and ensuring the legal department’s knowhow is maintained and relevant regulatory changes in-region are identified
- Develop and keep the good relationship with the local governments.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Technically excellent legal drafting skills
- Solid grounding in commercial and contract law and dispute resolution (litigation and arbitration), in their application to a wide range of matters
- Excellent communicator – listens well and translates legal issues into plain language
- Strong relationship building and influencing skills – able to work autonomously and also collaboratively and consultatively as part of a wider team
- Seeks ways for the legal and compliance function to continuously improve
- Highly self-motivated, organised and able to manage a large number of issues simultaneously
- Able to think creatively and solutions, results-orientated and positive, with a strong sense of ownership
