This role will serve as the strategic partner and technology leader for setting up the Data and Analytics function in China. This position will lead continuous technology improvements and identify innovative ways of provisioning data and key business insights to help business teams achieve desired business outcomes.
The position will focus on building and managing a technical team, building relationships with key business stakeholders, developing future state roadmaps based on business priorities and capabilities, facilitate recommendations and influence technology decisions, ensure investments are aligned with overall company’s vision & objectives, and are designed to maximize utility across business functions.

Essential Functions of the job:
•Engage with the Chinese teams in developing a data strategy and define Data & Analytics roadmap that aligns with key objectives/priorities of the business stakeholders.
•Break down IT roadmap into specific projects/ sprints based on priorities, including data mapping, onboarding, standardization, management, provisioning, exploration, and governance strategies.
•Advanced knowledge on Microsoft Technology offerings, including Power BI, Machine Learning, and Synapse analytics platform.
•Strong background in Data Warehouse architecture, in performing as the Data Warehouse architect, in building and leading technical teams, including all aspects of data warehousing, Power BI and Machine Learning.
•Establish operational reliability and readiness of all solutions prior to transitioning into production through quality assurance testing, assisting in user acceptance testing and provide post-implementation support.
•Develop strong relationships with data providers and setup a governance structure to review compliance with SOPs and drive continuous improvements.
•Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related technical fields, advanced degree preferred
•5-8 years of Pharmaceutical industry operations and experience in building Enterprise Data Warehouse and Analytics programs required
•Experience and understanding of architecture options for enterprise data warehouse, data marts, data integration tools and techniques, including ETL (Extract Transform Load) and CDC (Change Data Capture)
•Experience and understanding of the cloud environment, e.g., Azure, AWS experience helpful
•Experience working in a regulated environment such as GxP, SOX
•Ability to work in a fast-paced IT environment
•Ability to hire the right talents for the team
•Excellent written / verbal communication skills and presentation and project management skills
•Ability to coordinate needs assessments across multiple business teams, and an ability to deliver a comprehensive solution to those needs
•Demonstrated ability to work well within a matrixed environment, and an ability to build solid relationships / make connections across the organization.
•Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and solid business acumen with the ability to manage and provision large amounts of data to enable business analysis with high level of performance and trust.
•Ability to articulate complex technical problems and solutions to a wide business audience and communicate solution value.
•Must be able to identify operational weakness and implement corrective action / plan.
•Proven ability to grow and develop others.
