Life Science CRO Business
BD Manager
• Proactively support and comply with the Spectris policy on Code of Business Ethics
• Work with the sector sales teams to energetically promote Pre-clinical services (both externally and internally), generating and qualifying opportunities from both the company installed base and beyond
• Work with CRO Service to ensure opportunities generated are closed as efficiently as possible
• Act as an advocate for CRO within the regions, ensuring the sector sales teams see the personal value in service sales (in terms of future system sales, competitive edge etc.) and encouraging them to generate opportunities themselves
• Work with sector sales team, and applications and marketing teams, in order to generate sales enablement and marketing materials
• Identify new CHINA business opportunities, or new ways of reaching existing ones
• Monitor industry/customer trends and help define the industry market size and opportunity space within the regions
• Support and participate in Large and Strategic Account Management teams and build relationships with KOLs in the region to increase influence within the industry

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

• Strong domain knowledge of the pharmaceutical outsourcing sector
• 2+ years of experience within a CRO in a business development role
• Experience not only in closing opportunities, but also in opening them through a variety of communication media
• Ability to influence colleagues (in/outside of hierarchy) and build bridges to work towards a common goal
• Demonstrated skills in developing and using value propositions
• Strong writing, communication, presentation development and delivery skills
• Ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations
• Ability to conduct market, competitor and customer research to gather insights and assess market opportunities
• Empathetic to buyers, customers, users and sales resources


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or technology discipline. Master’s degree or MBA are preferred
• Multi-language capabilities essential (English and Chinese specifically)
