Location (Shanghai or Tokyo)
Job Description:
• Manage all Japan publishing initiatives with our partner
• Assisting with negotiations and business/legal related matters
• Build working level relationships with partner’s business and publishing teams
• Work with Head of Asia to formulate Japan's go-to-market strategy
• Manage multiple internal and external publishing workstreams:
• Local content development & liveops schedule
• All initial marketing support including detailed GTM plans
• Tech related coordination for local client-server structure, Partner platform SDK integrations, 3rd party software compatibility/replacements
• Testing schedule (focus group, alpha, beta and, launch) and milestone schedule
• Work with Partner to explore console porting with Sony (PS5) & Nintendo (Switch)
• Work with Partner marketing team to:
- Lead any local cross-promotion/IP collaboration marketing initiatives
- Review and oversee any annual KPIs, forecasts and budgeting, marketing spend and analysis
- Create official Theorycraft Japan website
- Work with Partner to create and manage social media accounts (e.g. LINE, etc.)
- Manage any relevant trade-show presence (e.g. Tokyo Game Show)
• Legal & Admin: local branding, assistance with any local copyright, software filings, regulatory approvals, managing any local compliance issues, etc.
• Coordinate executive meetings and assist with meeting prep and translation
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 5-10 years’ experience at a publishing role in a gaming company. Have track records of game publishing project experience
• Passion for gaming especially competitive pvp game genre (e.g. BR, MOBA)
• Deep understanding and industry knowledge of the Japan gaming market
• A resourceful network with local game industry veterans
• Proficiency in English and Japanese, mandarin will be a bonus.
• Has cross cultural/team/discipline collaborative working experience both internally and externally
• Excellent communication skills, teamwork and the ability to conduct strategic thinking and planning
