Job Description

Position Summary, 职位概述
Engineering Development manager will apply extensive and comprehensive knowledge of Project Development Principals and a working knowledge of Project Management and Multidisciplinary Engineering Principals to lead all project aspects of early phase project development (Project Scoping through to FEED Engineering). Ensure consistency and quality of early phase Project & Engineering deliverables across all disciplines. Where needed support overseeing contractors to ensure quality of work, particularly across large projects.
Projects >$5MM (GE Managed Projects) or site managed/R&D projects as assigned.
Act in a key leadership role (Project Manager/Development Manager/Engineering Manager) for assigned GE managed projects through the Early Phases (Phase 0~2) ensuring engineering excellence in capital projects. Working with the site & project teams to deliver:
Project Charter, (with clear objectives, business case, justification, critical knowledge & decisions points, project team, & early phase execution plan, steering team determination & alignment with Cabot values and business strategy)
Alternative Selection & Analysis including Capital Efficiency assessments
Development of project team roles/responsibilities and assign resources to early phase scope activities.
Project performance in achieving compliance with Cabot standards and practices as determined in Stage gate Readiness reviews and Early Phase Call stage gate approvals. Criteria determining compliance include:
Project Phase deliverables (Charter, Execution plan, Design basis, scopes, estimates, schedules, safety) are complete and with sufficient quality to allow the project to proceed to the next phase.
Alignment and agreement with key stakeholders allowing the project charters to be approved as “frozen” at the end of stage 2.
Proven, excellent Project Leadership skills
Strong software understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
BSc University Degree – Engineering, Chemical or Mechanical
10+ years in chemical or related industry, with 5 years of experience of project management.
The candidate will also need to be or have been a Project Engineer with project management responsibilities for selected projects.
