ROLE PURPOSE
Playing a pivotal role, supporting the COO/Finance Director, being responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounting function, providing very hands-on support to the finance team, including driving and implementing a commitment to continuous improvement.
CORE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Overseeing the month end close and completion of all supporting balance sheet reconciliations and reasonability checks on time across all businesses and legal entities, including intercompany reconciliations and group consolidation.
• Contributing too, and executing, plan to reduce month end close significantly by changing sequencing of processes and simplifying and automating those processes.
• Manage our accounts receivable team, overseeing the collection of receivables, then ensuring cash receipts are applied, and customer deduction are booked with supporting documentation, in a timely manner.
• Supporting all in-bound and out-bound Royalties, Commissions and Licensing reconciliations and payments, to ensure payments/receipts are made on-time and in accordance with Royalties, ensuring reconciliations and tracking summaries are completed in accordance with our contractual obligations.
• Lead inventory management including monthly item level reconciliation between our sub-ledger, and In-house and Third Party Warehouses around the world.
• Oversee the Group fixed asset register and capitalisation of all projects.
• Compilation of all statutory reporting requirements across all companies and jurisdictions.
• Development and optimisation of internal control systems and procedures
• Support streamlining and automation of the purchase to pay process, order to receipt and record to report processes.
• Lead from within, roll up the sleeves to be hands on with the team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: MAX 5 BULLET POINTS
• 8 years plus experience
• experience in FMCG or manufacturing businesses with proven ability to implement/manage best in class financial systems and processes, including an optimised financial close process
• ability to be hands on in the day-to-day transactions.
• strong experience with ERP systems (SAP useful), and a naturally process driven and analytical person through enhanced skills in excel and a basic proficiency in business intelligence software such as Tableau and BI
• ability to multi-task and be able to set priorities, stay focused, and set clear.
